Tranquility and seven bedrooms can be purchased in West Des Moines for $2.5 million

A seven-bedroom home for sale in West Des Moines delivers two of almost everything for executive level buyers searching for a showcase property in a quiet neighborhood.

Listed at a lofty $2.5 million, Realtor Saatchi Kalra has years of experience with the local luxury home market and is aware that potential clients comfortable at this price point often have very specific needs.

“They are folks who really don't want to build from scratch, they don't have the time. They don't have the energy. They don't want to go through that process, because it can cause a lot of stress sometimes,” she said.

Filling a considerable 5,227 square feet at 657 S. Tiburon Cove and adding an extra 2,335 square feet of fully furnished space on the lower level, the 1½ story home was custom designed in consultation with Iowa-based Destination Homes, and planned for a growing, or multigenerational family.

Located on a cul-de sac at the far eastern end of Mills Civic Parkway and less than three miles west of Jordan Creek Town Center, the home looks down onto a line of mature trees and the winding Sugar Creek tributary.

Built to create a statement, the front façade with copper accents was finished with a neutral color scheme, a conscious design decision that is repeated throughout the home. In Kalra’s opinion, the lack of brash colors encourages buyers to cease worrying about decorating and “just come right in. You don't have to change anything.”

The double door entrance opens to a foyer with an 18-foot ceiling and an open-plan living room facing UV-protected Pella windows and one of the home’s four fireplaces. The ground floor also features a home office, dining space, walk-in pantry and an oversized kitchen with two quartz-topped, 10-foot long islands.

Wi-Fi apps can control the kitchen sink faucet, open the four-car garage doors, control thermostats and the kitchen’s double ovens.

The primary bedroom connects to a bathroom with separate vanities, heated floors, heated smart toilet, a dual-head shower and a deep bathtub. Next to the bedroom is a separate sitting area that Kalra noted is another piece of the home’s calming atmosphere. “Just sitting there with a cup of coffee is just so relaxing. Very peaceful,” she added.

Owners can also enjoy a breakfast break on the two outdoor patios, including one constructed with its own fireplace and television.

Upstairs hosts four more bedrooms with walk-in closets, and access to one of the property’s two laundry rooms.

The lower-level space, covering a footprint as large as many conventional homes, includes two more bedrooms, a home gym, another full kitchen with an island, a family game room, and a storm shelter. A partially hidden door under the stairs leads to a children’s play area where the current owners have added a toy kitchen set up.

Potential buyers have already expressed an interest in installing a pool at the rear of the property, an upgrade that could adapt one of the lower-level outdoor decks as a pool room.

But other than that possible long-term upgrade, Kalra considers the house a “turnkey” purchase and a home she described as a “place to find peace.”

The home is listed at $2.5 million by Saatchi Kalra of Iowa Realty Mills Crossing . Contact Kalra at 515-453-5853 for more information and a private showing.
