Maxine R. Heckmon, 101
Maxine R. Heckmon, 101, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024 at home. Born November 17, 1922 in Hollenberg, KS, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Nina (Hall) Oswald. After moving to Wichita, KS, she met and married Raymond Heckmon who was stationed there in the U.S. Army during World War II. They were married in October, 1944. She was preceded in death by her late husband Raymond D. Heckmon, who was a life-long dairy farmer. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary prior to his passing in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Gary D. Heckmon, one brother, Donald Oswald and three sisters, Eldeen (Oswald) Brown, Wilma (Oswald) Allerheiligan and Dorothy (Oswald) Borud.

York-Adams League softball trio selected to Pennsylvania all-state team
South Western softball stars Jayda Koontz and Kinsley Proepper joined Dover's Kendall Noel as the York-Adams League's three honorees on Pennsylvania's all-state teams. The selections were revealed Friday by the Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association. All six classifications recognized a Player and Pitcher of the Year, as well as first and second teams. Koontz and Proepper earned Class 5A first-team selections at pitcher and catcher, respectively, while Noel was named to the second team as a second baseman.

Hershey man, teen charged for New Year’s robbery, assault
LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) – Two people have been arrested in connection to a burglary and assault on New Year’s Day in Lebanon County. Western Lebanon County Regional Police say on July 3 they arrested Isaiah Williamson in connection to the assault. Police say Williamson forcibly entered a home and assaulted multiple occupants. On Saturday, June 29, around 1:30 a.m., Trooper Nicholas Isajczuk was patrolling I-94 near the Porter/LaPorte County line when he spotted a speeding gray Toyota SUV without headlights or tail lights.
