WEEK 11 – JULY 22 – JULY 26, 2024. It is possible, but not likely, that residents may experience some discoloration, cloudy water, low pressure, or temporary loss of service of water during this period. The City will not be responsible for any damage caused by discolored water.
Milford looks to ban future tobacco, vape and smoke shops from opening up
MILFORD, Conn. — Milford Mayor Anthony Giannattasio has constructed a proposal in collaboration with the director of health to stop new smoke, vape and tobacco stores from opening in the city. It comes after Giannattasio said it’s one of the top concerns residents have come to him with.
Microburst likely caused damage in Stratford: mayor's office
Several trees and branches came down during storms on Wednesday in Stratford and the mayor’s office said a microburst appears to have caused the damage. "Yesterday's weather event caused an incredible amount downed trees, limbs, branches, and debris. The area of Stratford between and around Huntington Road and Nichols Avenue felt the brunt of the storm, which the National Weather Service confirmed was likely a microburst,” the mayor’s office said in a statement.

Orange To Get Over $100K From Dispensary’s First Six Months
Orange will get $108,035.67 in tax revenue from the first six months of operation of the town’s only marijuana dispensary. That total is more than double what the town made in the first three months after Southern Connecticut Wellness & Healing’s RISE dispensary, which sells both medicinal and recreational marijuana, opened in late 2023.
Four houses proposed at site of former Spring Hill Road animal rescue
MONROE, CT — Neighbors of the SPCA of Connecticut Animal Shelter railed against the facility at 359 Spring Hill Road when it first opened in the early 2000s, but the dog kennels were a grandfathered use. The owner, Frederick Acker, fought with town officials over the number of dogs allowed on the property over the years and, due to financial woes, the shelter closed down for good last year.

Branford Registrars offer July 26 Voter Registration Hours
In addition to its regular Tuesday and Thursday hours, the Branford Registrars of Voters office will be open on Friday, July 26, from noon to 2 p.m. for voter registration in advance of the upcoming US Senate Republican Primary on Tuesday, Aug. 13. The office is located at 40 Kirkham Street.
