Child dies in Weber County after medical call

WEST HAVEN, Utah ( ABC4 ) — A child died in West Haven on Tuesday after officials were called out to assist with a medical call, according to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office .

The child, 12, died after being taken to the hospital. According to the sheriff’s office, officials received a medical call around 2:30 p.m.

The sheriff’s office responded to the scene, and both family members and deputies performed CPR on the child until medical personnel took over.

“The Weber County Sheriff’s Office extends its condolences to the family; our thoughts and prayers are with them as they grieve this loss,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release.

Officials said the cause of death is still under investigation, and the identity of the child will not be released because of their age.
