    Deputies shoot, kill man in West Hollywood

    Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department shot and killed a man in West Hollywood on Saturday, authorities confirmed.

    According to the LASD , the shooting happened at about 5:40 p.m. at the 1100 block of North Gardener Street. The department didn’t indicate what started the confrontation between the man and deputies.

    After the shooting the man was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. His identity was not revealed as of Saturday night.

    It was not clear whether the man shot was armed or if he also fired shots toward the deputies.

    All deputies were uninjured.

    No additional details were immediately made available. Per standards, the shooting will be independently investigated by multiple agencies, including the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office.
