The secret to scoring on Daniel Jacobsen will not be found in Americup film, that much is clear.

The incoming freshman Purdue 7-footer established a defensive presence in the International Basketball Federation tournament unseen since Myles Turner played in it in 2014, the same Turner who has led the NBA in blocks twice in his professional career. The big man set the Americup record with 19 blocks in six games to pass Turner's 18.

The performance helped him earn one of five spots on the Americup All-Star second team. He joined Villanova commit Josiah Moseley on the team, among others.

Jacobsen posted five blocks in two different games (against Argentina in the first game and Puerto Rico in the quarterfinals) and had four against Brazil during pool play.

The Americans put up a 6-0 record en route to their seventh-straight gold medal in the tournament, and the result qualifies the USA for a spot in the U19 World Cup next summer in Switzerland.

Jacobsen, a 7-foot-3 center from Chicago and Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, averaged 9 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in just 16 minutes per game while shooting 65% from the field and 79% from the free-throw line. That line comes out to 22.5, 17 and nearly eight blocks per 40 minutes.

Jacobsen will return to Purdue this week to start summer workouts.
