Potential. It’s a word used often when talking about Purdue 2025 offensive line commitment Kuol Kuol .

The 6-6, 240-pound product of Centerville (Ohio) High–just south of Dayton–Kuol Kuol is an On3 three-star prospect who picked the Boilermakers over offers from the likes of Boston College and Michigan State, among others.

He came on Purdue’s radar late, earning an offer during camp in June. An official visit soon followed before he committed in July. It was a shot gun marriage for a player who traces his roots to the South Sudan.

Kuol Kuol (pronounced Qual Qual) was born in American. His mother is an aide in a nursing home and his step father works in a taxi company.

He’s the third o-lineman to commit and the 13th pledge overall in the Class of 2025. Purdue’s other 2025 offensive line commitments are Takhyian Whitset and Cameron Gorin .

Kuol Kuol is one of six Purdue 2025 commitments from Ohio, joining NT Drayden Pavey (Cincinnati Taft), CB Dawayne Galloway (Columbus Franklin), ILB Grant Beerman (West Chester Lakota West), RB Ziaire Stevens (Akron East) and TE Brian Kortovich (Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph).

GoldandBlack.com spoke to Centerville head coach Brent Ullery to learn more about Kuol Kuol.

Q: What type of a lineman is Purdue getting?
A: He’s long, strong, very strong. Very athletic. But that all pales compared to his character, his effort, and everything. He’s through the roof.

Q: He seems like a really well-mannered young man.
A: He’s so mature for his age. He does such a good job being respectful and everything. He’s incredible. You talk to him and you’d swear he’s 30 years old.

Q: What do you know about his background?
A: He lives with mom and stepdad. They’re very hands-off parents. They just kind of say, ‘We trust you. Go ahead and take him.’

Q: He needs to add weight, right?
A: Yeah, he’s been adding weight. He’s been on a steady incline for about the last 12 months. At one point, I think when he came to us as a freshman, he might have been under 200 pounds. He’s doing it the right way though, the muscle way and the athletic way, not the doughnuts and pizza way like I do.

Q: You think he was under recruited?
A: I think he’s a little bit under recruited because of the uncertainty of his size would be my guess. He’s probably 260 right now. And Ohio State recruits 285s and up, and guys like that.

Q: How heavy can he get?
A: He could carry 300 pounds and you wouldn’t even know it.

Q: What’s his best spot at the next level?
A: He’s a tackle, for sure. He’s super long. Super quick. He can get up there on an island. He’s the right guy in the right place there.

Q: What level of competition do you play?
A: We’re the top division in Ohio. We’re probably top 10-size school in Ohio. Our strength of schedule will probably be top five in Ohio. The state runner-up has been on our schedule the last three or four years. We just added St. Xavier High School and Carmel, Ind. We got some studs on our schedule.

Q: Does he do other sports?
A: He’s a field thrower in track, shot, discus, hammer. He’s just a great kid. He’s hard worker. Very gritty. Very tough.

Q: Do you think he’ll get to Purdue in January?
A: That’s our goal. I do you think so. We still got to meet with some counselors and stuff. It’s doable with his credits.

    Q: NFL potential?
A: He 100 percent does. He’s that big and long. Some of these guys that gain weight, they gain it too fast and it’s all fat. They try to turn it into muscle. He’s getting it the right way. He’ll never have to worry about being too fat and too slow.

Q: Is Kuol Kuol his first and last name?

A: He’s K2 to us. There is no first and last name. That’s the first and last name. It’s something cultural that I’m just not sure about, but it’s normal in their family.
