Woman dies Wednesday night in Rapho Township house fire: coroner
A 66-year-old woman died Wednesday night after emergency crews pulled her from her burning home in Rapho Township, according to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office. Beth Yanni, of 2652 Lebanon Road, was pronounced dead at Lancaster General Hospital after firefighters rescued her from her single-family home on Route 72 across from the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire grounds around 8:30 p.m.
Dallastown area man charged with shooting trooper in Lancaster as officers searched units
A Dallastown area man has been charged with shooting a Pennsylvania State Police corporal in Lancaster, according to court records and a news release. Alfredo Maldonado-Gonzalez, 40, has been charged with attempted criminal homicide of a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault, assault on law enforcement, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, possession of a firearm, recklessly endangering another person and receiving stolen property, the release states.

Stephen Earl Wilcoxson, 74, died June 27 at York Hospital after a long series of illnesses. Born June 17, 1950, in Fredericksburg, Va., Steve was the son of the late Earl and Harriet Wilcoxson. He graduated from Great Mills High School, where he played football and was bitten by the theater bug. He enlisted in the Navy and served in Vietnam.

Donald B. Weidman, age 85, of Mount Joy, entered into eternal rest on Sunday July 21, 2024, at Harrisburg Hospital after a brief illness. Many people knew him by his nickname Sam. He was born on March 7, 1939, to the late Harlan and Susan Weidman. He was the youngest of 10 siblings. He was the loving husband of Dorothy N. Mylin Weidman, whom he married October 8, 1960. They shared 63 years of marriage together.
