Two men charged in connection to theft from Adams County car dealership
Two men from Maryland have been charged by police in connection to the thefts of two cars from a dealership in Gettysburg in April. Lt. Gov. Davis visits Lancaster for gun violence prevention roundtable
Lt. Gov. Austin Davis visited Lancaster on Wednesday to talk with local officials and those whose work in one form or another deals with gun violence. Davis, who said his life in public service was spurred by going to his city’s council meeting after a shooting on his block, wanted to both share what the state is doing to combat the gun violence epidemic and learn about what’s working in Lancaster.
Hanover General Store gets a facelift
The General Store in the Hanover Village (at the Junction of county roads C-65 and M27) is receiving a “facelift” in July. The Hanover Historical Society learned in the spring that the wooden supporting structure and siding on the east side had dry rot and needed to be replaced.

Donald B. Weidman, age 85, of Mount Joy, entered into eternal rest on Sunday July 21, 2024, at Harrisburg Hospital after a brief illness. Many people knew him by his nickname Sam. He was born on March 7, 1939, to the late Harlan and Susan Weidman. He was the youngest of 10 siblings. He was the loving husband of Dorothy N. Mylin Weidman, whom he married October 8, 1960. They shared 63 years of marriage together.
