Tony Howard Neighoff, 65, of Littlestown, PA, passed at home while surrounded by his loving family. Born August 5, 1958 in Baltimore County, Tony was the loving son of the late Alfred and Joan (Haines) Poland.Tony was a Veteran of the United States Navy who loved jigsaw puzzles, horses, and the Houston Texans along with being a big fan of junk food.Tony is survived by his children, David Kraus, Bonnie Scheder and her husband Christopher; grandchildren, Colin and Blaine Dorbert, and Anna Lefler; great grandson, Cooper Hull; brothers, Irvin Thomas Neighoff Jr. and wife Janet, Charles Dawson, Joseph W. Dawson and wife Petra, Jeffrey Poland and wife Lanae, George Poland and wife Darlene, and David Poland and wife Amanda; sisters, Brenda E. Beirman-Lambert, and Beverly Rowley and husband Dennis; aunt, Carol Metz; uncle, Leonard Poland many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his dog, Buddy.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father, Irvin Neighoff, Sr.; grandmothers, Annie Haines and Evelyn Poland; grandfathers, Howard Haines and Joseph Poland; uncles, Richard Poland and Harold Poland.Services will be private. Anna âAnnâ Louise (Davis) Deckert, 80 of Gettysburg passed away on July 20, 2024 at the Gettysburg Hospital after a long illness. Born on October 26, 1943 in Gettysburg, she was the second child of Betty Kroushour Leonard and Lester Davis. She was the wife of James H. Deckert of Gettysburg and mother of two sons, Bradley Deckert and Chad Deckert.

Peter S. Carmichael, 58 of Gettysburg, PA passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the York Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Christ Lutheran Church, 30 Chambersburg St. Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, July 26th from 5:00-7:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:00-10:30 AM. Tice will present an overview of the many contributions of women during the American Civil War. “Contributions of Women During the American Civil War” explores stories of extraordinary women who pushed back against societal and cultural norms that defined the accepted “culture of womanhood.” Tice will discuss women’s involvement in the war that expanded into realms such as spying, soldiering and defending the homefront. This special program will feature the story of the Nancy Hart Militia in LaGrange, Georgia. The Nancy Hart Militia was a group of women who stepped far outside of their comfort zones as they armed themselves and prepared to defend their community against Union troops.
