Baseball Earns ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award
LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall baseball team earned the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2023-24 academic year, ABCA announced Wednesday morning. The Diplomats garner the award for the eighth-consecutive year with Franklin & Marshall being one of 181 Division III institutions and one of eight Centennial Conference schools to receive the honor. Northwest Regional Police will host National Night Out
For many people, interactions with police, EMS or other first responders happen in stressful or dangerous situations. To help build positive connections between community helpers and members of the community, Northwest Regional Police Department will host National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 6. Pa. State Police trooper shot, wounded while serving warrant
A Pennsylvania State Police corporal serving a warrant on Wednesday morning in Lancaster was shot in the arm by the suspect, state police said. The corporal, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening wound, while the suspect was taken into custody at the scene by other members of the law enforcement team serving the warrant, state police said.

Donald B. Weidman, age 85, of Mount Joy, entered into eternal rest on Sunday July 21, 2024, at Harrisburg Hospital after a brief illness. Many people knew him by his nickname Sam. He was born on March 7, 1939, to the late Harlan and Susan Weidman. He was the youngest of 10 siblings. He was the loving husband of Dorothy N. Mylin Weidman, whom he married October 8, 1960. They shared 63 years of marriage together.
