Steward to close two Ohio hospitals, Pennsylvania facility at risk
Steward is closing two Ohio hospitals with another in Pennsylvania at high risk of closure as the health system continues to limp through bankruptcy. The closures of Trumbull Regional Medical Center and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital, both in Warren, Ohio, come after Steward failed to find a buyer for the facilities. The hospitals will start closing on or around Sept. 20, according to the system.

Pittsburgh Ballet Performs Ballet Under the Stars at Hartwood Acres (Sun., 8/25/24)
Dancers and musicians of Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre visit the outdoor stage at Hartwood Acres to perform pieces from the company’s repertoire in a free show called Ballet Under the Stars. As the title indicates, this is an evening performance, but fans are invited to come early for a couple of pre-show events. One is a family fun events with free children’s activities and on-site food vendors, starting at 5:30 p.m. Also at 5:30 p.m., the VIP tent opens for dinner, drinks, and a chance to meet other ballet enthusiasts; this event requires buying tickets (see the web link above). The free performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Dancers will be performing a mixed repertory program. Since it starts before sunset, not many stars will be visible at first—but they’ll come out soon, and everyone is invited to dance along with the show. Heading into this year, many Pittsburgh Pirates fans were confident the Bucs would win a lot of close games in the ninth inning. David Bednar was coming off his third straight strong season with the Pirates. From 2021 to 2023, Bednar established himself as one of the most effective late-inning arms in the game with a 2.25 ERA, 2.56 FIP, and 1.06 WHIP.
