New Berlin eliminates ballot drop boxes for fall elections
NEW BERLIN, Wis. — The New Berlin Common Council unanimously decided against ballot drop boxes for the upcoming elections. The city, which first installed a ballot box in 2020 to reduce COVID-19 exposure, has not used them since 2022, when the Wisconsin Supreme Court limited the use of drop boxes, ruling that they could be placed only in local election clerks' offices and that only the voter could return a ballot in person.

Another one of those 50/50 weather splits during a very busy weekend
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)--Saturday, no problem. Sunday, could be a different story weatherwise. Looks like we could have scattered showers and storms, especially during the second part of the day. Won't be all day though. I know so much is happening this weekend, including the Air & Water Show in Milwaukee and German Fest. I wouldn't cancel the plans. Just keep an eye to the sky and be ready to head for cover. The storm chances continue into early Tuesday and then again later in the week, including Thursday and Friday as the State Fair gets underway. Hopefully next weekend will be drier. Look for lots of 80s this coming week with lows in the 60s and 70s. Humidity will be higher as well with the milder temps. Typical summertime weather.
