WEST MONROE, La. ( KTVE/KARD ) — Even though the July 4th holiday has passed, the festivities continued today in downtown West Monroe.

Starting at 11 a.m., a variety of food trucks were downtown, ranging from tacos to tasty snow cones, which were a crowd favorite.

Sweet Vibes Snowballs hit the road around two weeks ago, having just about any flavor of snow cone you can think of.

James Stapleton with Sweet Vibes Snowballs says that many families and members of the community have passed through as the day went on, and he expects to see a bigger turnout as the night continues.

“I’d say it’s friendly for everybody around here,” Stapleton says.

A kids play area will be open from 4–8:30 p.m., and Monty Russell will be performing live music from 7–9 p.m., with a fireworks show wrapping things up at 9 p.m.
