The party has begun: Lowell Folk Festival returns for 37th year
LOWELL — The wait is over as the 37th Lowell Folk Festival has made its triumphant return to the Mill City. The event kicked off on Friday evening with music from Puerto Rican percussionist Jorge Arce Comparsa and an 11-piece band leading the Parade of Nations from City Hall to Boarding House Park.

Gillian Dana and Marissa Cataldo run Curds & Co. At the core of this shop are their cheese education and pairing classes. Julie Burke, now known as Julie Burke Israel, was mentioned among other hires by Mansfield Superintendent Teresa Murphy in a district newsletter on June 20. When questioned about Burke’s absence from Hull High in May, former Superintendent Judith Kuehn asked that the public “respect her privacy” and would give no further details about the administrator’s prolonged absence. Burke Israel did not attend Hull High’s graduation, and her resignation was not discussed at the school committee’s June 24 meeting.
