Miss Butler County competes in state competition
Miss Butler County Samantha Roth competed in the Miss Pennsylvania pageant from June 13 to 15 at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts in York, Pa. Many activities greeted the young women from around the state who participated in the state competition, including a visit to Harrisburg, luncheon with the York Philanthropy Club, pajama party and movie night, a Barbie-themed ball, Lilac Ball, and others.
North Huntingdon Township making changes to emergency alert system
NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. (KDKA) -- North Huntingdon is moving to a new way to send alerts to residents.The township says residents will soon be able to update contact information, subscribe to different alerts, and get push notifications through an app.The transition is set for July 15, 2024, and the township says all existing alert subscribers will be shifted to the new system called Everbridge, but people will need to create an Everbridge account to use the new features.

At DeStella Dance Centre in Export, everyone is ready to shake it off. Kids sing along and talk while making bracelets. Swift was the theme of Wednesday's dance camp."I remember my first song listening to Taylor Swift, how it made me jump up and dance, and I feel that is how it makes them feel too," dance instructor Kyla Cerminara said. Shapiro Visits Centre County to Tout Expanded Relief from Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program
Gov. Josh Shapiro visited Philipsburg on Thursday to discuss Pennsylvania's expanded Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program that will provide more money to a greater number of older and disabled adults.
