LUBBOCK, Texas — Residents around Snyder and Hermleigh continued to react to the 4.9 magnitude earthquake that hit near their homes on Monday, July 23. At approximately 10:39 PM CDT Monday, July 22, 2024, an earthquake occurred between Snyder and Roby Texas, just north of Highway 180 at 10:38 p.m. CDT. At 10:46 p.m. CDT, an aftershock with a magnitude of 4.4 struck in roughly the same location.

Researchers compared key data points from 281 small cities, including unemployment rates, percentage of residents with health insurance, average commute times, annual housing costs as a percent of income, percent of residents below the poverty line and more, according to a news release from the town of Flower Mound.

The 2024 edition of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine was released earlier in July and one of the features annually is the magazine's Super Team candidates from all across the State of Texas. These players are considered to be the very best players at their positions from players in more than 1,500 high schools all across the state.
