Get ready for a “Red, White and True” celebration at this year’s 4th on Flagler festivities in downtown West Palm Beach.

The event is the largest waterfront Independence Day celebration in South Florida, and more than 50,000 people are expected to attend.

The 4th on Flagler will run from 6 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 4. The fireworks will go off with a bang over the Intracoastal Waterway around 9:09 p.m.

“Every year, 4th on Flagler is a destination celebration for Independence Day,” says West Palm Beach Mayor Keith A. James. “Residents and visitors come from all over South Florida and beyond to enjoy our family-friendly entertainment, patriotic celebrations, stunning waterfront views, and, of course, our impressive 18-minute fireworks display.”

Live music, family-friendly activities and vendors will crowd the downtown area along Flagler Drive, between Banyan Blvd. and Fern Street.

“Each year, we are reminded of the significance of this event when we see a large crowd enjoying the patriotic celebrations on our beautiful waterfront. We know this day holds meaning for many, and we are grateful for the opportunity to host a world-class event where memories are made each year,” says Mary Pinak, community events manager for the City of West Palm Beach.

Blankets and chairs are recommended. Parking is available in West Palm Beach’s public parking garages. Parking at the City Center, Clematis and Sapodilla garages will be a $5 flat rate. The closest garages to the event, Banyan and Evernia, will be $5 before 4 p.m. and then $10 after 4 p.m

People who prefer to celebrate at home can watch the fireworks display as a WPBF 25 Special: 4th on Flagler LIVE Fireworks or WRMF 97.9 for a simulcast of music from 9 – 9:30 p.m.
