    July ends with a scorcher

    Happy Sunday!

Saturday afternoon pop-up showers dropped heavy rain on parts of the Ozarks. Near Rolla, weather watcher Sarah Lamb saw 4.5″ of rain. This was the same area where the Missouri Highway Patrol reported water over I-44 near the 182 mile-marker. West Plains also saw heavy rainfall late this afternoon into the evening hours.

Sunday will be our last day of 80° temperatures for a while. It’s been a mild July so far, but the final three days of the month will be steamy.

We will see the chance for a few afternoon showers and storms on Sunday. It’ll be very similar to Saturday. Whatever does pop-up has the potential to drop a lot of rain in a short amount of time.

August begins on Thursday and it will feel summer-like.
