DNR seeks public input on wildlife administrative rule revisions
(Des Moines) The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) seeks informal comments on administrative rules for Iowa wildlife and related programs. Executive Order 10 (EO10), signed by Governor Reynolds on January 10, 2023, requires all state agencies to identify which administrative rule chapters will be retained or rescinded. The EO10 process includes public engagement with the opportunity for input.

Parts of northern Illinois shook Monday as a 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck in the early morning hours. The earthquake was centered northwest of the DeKalb County village of Somonauk. According to the United States Geological Survey, the trembler had an estimated depth of about 6 miles. The earthquake could be felt as far as Joliet.

Quincy man sentenced to 18 years in prison in plea deal for September stabbing in Blessing Hospital parking lot
QUINCY — It started with a door ding. Dylan Test, 20, was sentenced to serve 18 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on Monday morning by Judge Tad Brenner in Adams County Circuit Court. He waived his right to a jury trial on Feb. 27 and entered a guilty plea on April 30.

Quincy Police Department reports another rash of vehicle burglary calls over weekend
QUINCY — The Quincy Police Department received numerous burglary-to-vehicle calls and several reports of stolen vehicles last weekend. Many of the stolen vehicles were recovered. A press release from the Quincy Police Department said the suspects targeted the south side of town. As in the past, most of the burglaries were to unlocked vehicles. The stolen vehicles were either Kia or Hyundai vehicles or other makes that were unlocked with the keys left inside.
