INDIANAPOLIS – A day before Purdue football arrived at Big Ten Media Days at Lucas Oil Stadium on Tuesday, the conference released its preseason media poll for its expected order of finish. With the league's divisions a relic of the past following the additions of Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA, the voters simply ranked the teams in order from 1-18. Ohio State was picked to win the league, while Oregon, Penn State and defending national champion Michigan were hot on the Buckeyes' heels. Minnesota and Illinois, which Purdue beat last season by a combined 44 points, checked in at 12th and 13th. Boilermakers rival Indiana, under a new coach in Curt Cignetti and loser of three in a row to the Boilermakers, was listed 17th.

Marjorie Ann Sines, 97, of Bringhurst, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, July 13, 2024. She was living at St. Elisabeth Healthcare in Delphi. Marjorie was born December 4, 1926, in Flora, IN to Charles and Lova Jordan. On Feb. 13, 1949, she married Wayne Sines.
