Mother was a drop-out, part 3
To enter college, one signed a paper telling age, high school attended, and parents’ names. That was it. If you could pay tuition, you could enter. PK’s got a reduction in tuition. Since I qualified as a preacher’s kid, I got the reduced rate. Making at least a B average also helped financially. I managed to do that.

A Purdue University student booted Linux entirely through Google Drive
Google Drive is one of the best storage solutions for people wanting to upload files and folders to the metaphorical cloud. It continuously gets quality-of-life improvements across the board, including recently integrating the much-wanted dark mode into the platform and new filter categories for Android devices (even though they strangely came a month after they hit Drive on iPhones). There’s not much that Drive can’t do for you, and now, that surprisingly includes being able to boot up an entire operating system.
59 Days to Purdue Football: Thomas Tinsley
Today is 59 days until kickoff of Purdue football so we turn our sights to #59 Thomas Tinsley. There’s no two ways about it here. Tinsley is not expected to make an impact this season. Tinsley currently weighs in at 240 pounds, assuming the weights on the Purdue Sports website are accurate, and that just isn’t what you want to see out of one your starting offensive lineman. We’d really like to get that up another 30+ pounds depending on the particular position that Tinsley slots himself into. Marcus Mbow for example who is slated to be a starter on the right side of the line is currently 6’5” (one inch shorter than Tinsley) and weighs in at 305 pounds. I’m not saying that Tinsley needs to weight in at 305 in order to find himself a starting role on the OL, but I’m simply saying that at 240 pounds there is work to do,

WL City Council approves contentious high rise development 5-4
After nine members of the West Lafayette public had said their piece Monday night, with following statements from a lawyer and the mayor, the council voted. For a few beats, if only because of a misspoken final vote tally, it appeared a high rise student apartment complex was kept out of town, while several of the nine who had spoken variably fist-pumped or exchanged the hopeful glances of those whose ears may have deceived them.

A developer somehow got an entire OS running on Google Drive
Serving tech enthusiasts for over 25 years. In brief: Purdue University computer science student Ersei has achieved an extraordinary technical feat: getting a full Linux distro to boot directly from Google Drive. It all started when a friend managed the already impressive feat of booting Linux from a Network File System. But being a self-proclaimed competitive soul, Ersei decided to go bigger. In what they call a "ragged screech of madness," the developer landed on the idea of booting an operating system from Google's cloud storage platform.

A great friendly rivalry on the links
There was little that separated them on the golf course this past spring as North Montgomery’s Neal Jeffery and Crawfordsville’s Tanner Gilland were the two best in Montgomery County. Both had an 18-hole average of 78 as each of them had their moments. Early in the season both shot a 76 at the Covington Invite and they tied again with strong showings at the Sagamore Conference meet with 73’s. At the county meet, Gilland shot a 78 with Jeffery carding an 82, at the sectional Jeffery got the best of Gilland with a 77 with Gilland shooting an 80. In their final meeting of the season at the Regional the duo tied for the third time this season with an 89.
