Fatal crash on Kelly Drive caused by illegal turn, police say
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A 41-year-old man who was the passenger in an Uber died in a crash on Kelly Drive in Philadelphia on Thursday afternoon after the driver made an illegal left turn into oncoming traffic, police said. The crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. at Kelly and Reservoir drives near the Strawberry Mansion Bridge, according to police. The crash temporarily closed Kelly Drive but it has since reopened. Crozer facility to halt surgeries: What it means for orthopedics
In a bid to consolidate operations, Crozer Health's Ridley Park, Pa.-based Taylor Hospital will cease performing surgeries. Jeffrey Malumed, MD, president of Premier Orthopaedics, has been performing surgeries at Taylor for 35 years, according to an Aug. 15 report from The Philadelphia Inquirer. His time with the hospital will now end Sept. 1 as the system continues to shutter services and close locations across the country.
Bicyclist Hit Multiple Times By Gunfire From 3 Men In Philly: Police
On Wednesday, Aug. 14 at approximately 7 p.m., police from the 1st District responded to a call about a person with a gun at 1500 Snyder Avenue.
