Protestors say they were assaulted outside Islamic Center of Tri Cities

WEST RICHLAND, Wash. --- The West Richland Police Department is requesting assistance in identifying a male who they said is suspected of assaulting two individuals and damaging property outside the Islamic Center of Tri-Cities in the early afternoon of 6/30/2024.

In a Facebook post, the suspect left the scene prior to Officers arrival and has not been located. We called W-R-P-D for a comment, but our calls were never returned and in that same post, other citizens commented that there is more to the story.

The protestors are known to our area for having controversial views on everything from immigrants to religion, LGBTQ issues among other viewpoints.

Apple Valley News Now's Austin Reed left messages for the Islamic center and our calls were not returned.

No one was seriously injured. The protestors were Dale and Peggy Brown, who had also previously worked for the Prosser School District. They said they were only practicing their first amendment right.  They did get back to Austin's request for an interview after the 6p.m. news on Monday and are asking that people watch the entire YouTube Video here.

Call West Richland Police if you know anything.
