(FOX40.COM) — On Friday, the California Highway Patrol celebrated the promotion of over 100 new officers to its workforce.

“The California Highway Patrol proudly congratulates the 102 cadets of Cadet Training Class I-24 on their promotion to officers,” the agency said on Facebook. “After enduring 26 weeks of rigorous training, these dedicated individuals are now ready to report to their area offices and serve the people of California.”

On Wednesday, dozens of CHP cadets took the final steps of their journeys through a symbolic run from the CHP Academy in West Sacramento to the California Peace Officers Memorial near the state Capitol.

At the run, soon-to-be officer Jacob Parker said, “To be in a position where you can help someone out and make a difference in someone’s life means everything to me.”

Parker added that he’s ready to serve next to the men and women who have become more like family to him throughout the training they all had to endure.

CHP concluded their Facebook post by commending the graduates for their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to public safety. “Welcome to the CHP family!” CHP said.
