Boys and Girls Club food truck competition

WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT) -- Students at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater La Crosse area spent the last week learning how to run their own food truck business.

And then, they were challenged to create their own.

They heard a local food truck operator's ingredients for a successful business, and worked with a volunteer graphic designer to create their food truck designs and logos.

Friday the students showed off their new business model to a panel of judges.

Sadie Hanuska's team created the 'Grill on the Go' food truck.  She said it was centered around barbeque.

"The thing we served to the judge was pulled pork mac and cheese, but we also had barbeque and corn and ribs and all that stuff," said Hanuska.

The judges graded the presentations based on a variety of factors including the kids' business model, truck design, and how good the food tasted.
