NEW YORK (AP) — The second baby of a tree-dwelling kangaroo made its public debut this week in New York, poking its pink head head out of its mom’s furry white pouch. The tiny Matschie’s tree kangaroo, or Dendrolagus matschiei, was born in December and is the second born to the same mother since 2022. It also was the third of its kind born at the Bronx Zoo since 2008.

NEW YORK (AP) — An 89-year-old comedian is recovering after being randomly punched and knocked to the ground while waiting to cross a street in New York earlier this month. D’yan Forest said she had just stopped at a coffee shop and was heading to a swimming pool when someone came up to her from behind and hit her in the eye. She lay on the ground in shock as police and paramedics came to her aid.

James Michael Cline, the entrepreneur who founded the popular movie ticketing service Fandango, died Tuesday in an apparent suicide in Manhattan. He was 64. A ‘family-friendly, casual’ eatery: Myles on Main opens in the Preston House
A new “family-oriented” restaurant is now open across from the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead. Myles on Main, downtown Riverhead’s newest eatery, opened on June 29 in the Preston House & Hotel on East Main Street. The restaurant is within the restored historic home, which was built in 1905 by local Civil War hero Henry Preston, Suffolk County’s first full-time sheriff. In 2018, the house was renovated and improved with a 20-room boutique hotel by Hyatt Place and aquarium developer Joseph Petrocelli.
