Springfield Italian eatery will move to downtown Urbana
Eatly, a seasonal Springfield restaurant, will soon move to a larger location in downtown Urbana and open year-round. The restaurant, which has been open at 601 N. Fountain Ave. since 2021, will be “steps off the square” in Urbana, and while it will continue serving its traditional Sicilian fare, owner Tom Thompson said he will add homestyle foods like baked mac ‘n cheese, baked steaks and homemade chicken and noodles, to the menu. Massive 916,000-pound load to depart Adams County for New Albany Intel plant next week
Columbus, Ohio – On Wednesday, August 7, the fifteenth of nearly two dozen “super loads” and the last of four loads exceeding 900,000 pounds will leave the dock site in Adams County. The convoy will head to New Albany to deliver this substantial load to the new Intel plant in Licking County. This air processor, known as a cold box, is crucial for the silicon chip manufacturing process. The cold box measures approximately 23 feet tall, 20 feet wide, and 280 feet long, weighing an impressive 916,000 pounds.
FIDF Ohio chapter part of Israel visit, provides ‘connection’ post-Oct. 7
About 30 people involved with the Central Region of the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces took a mission trip to Israel from June 23 through June 27. When creating the itinerary and goals for the trip, the FIDF thought about how it could best share the stories from Oct. 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, and help people understand that this is a historical time, Tamir Oppenheim, vice president of the central region of the FIDF, told the Columbus Jewish News July 17. The same itinerary has been used four times and is planned to be used again later this year. The Central Region of the group includes the Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and Dallas chapters.
