Babydog Charms The Crowd At The RNC Convention

West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice (R) had just started his address at the Republican National Convention when the crowd started chanting “Babydog! Babydog! Babydog!”

Babydog is Justice’s four-year-old, 60-pound English bulldog and she knew it was her time to shine.

“I know that a lot of you want to meet my little buddy,” he said, to cheers and applause. “So if Babydog could come on out here.”

Babydog was then placed on a chair next to Justice for the crowd to see her.

“As the world watches, you didn’t really expect that did you?” Justice joked, as Babydog sat panting next to him.

Babydog had gained notoriety in West Virginia politics, not only sitting beside the governor at official events but starring in a “Do it for Babydog” COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

Justice talks about Babydog often, including her love for Wendy’s chicken nuggets.

the English bulldog also has a presence on X. After her convention appearance, her account thanked her growing fan base in a post.

“I enjoyed meeting so many of you at the GOPconvention! Thank you for the treats, the pets, and all the photos!”
