    The Uno Pizzeria & Grill at 225 Turnpike Road, Westborough, in the plaza with the vacant Regal Cinemas building, closed for good Tuesday evening. The restaurant announced the closing on social media Monday. "We have enjoyed being a part of this wonderful community and will truly miss the friendships and partnerships we have made," the post reads. The restaurant is in a standalone building at the front of Stagecoach Plaza. Red Heat Tavern is in a separate building, as was the cinema complex, vacant since 2017. Uno Pizzeria opened in Westborough in 1997, about when the plaza opened.

    Whitinsville-based UniBank will open a second location in the city on the ground floor of an apartment building across the street from Polar Park by the fall. Michael W. Welch, CEO, said the full-service branch will be the first in the neighborhood. The branch will be found inside The Revington, a 228-apartment building at Madison and Washington streets and Green Island Boulevard, which opened in late 2023 as the dreamchild of Boston-based real estate developer Madison Properties. UniBank will be leasing from Madison, who bought the land for $6.1 million in March 2019 from the owner of Wyman-Gordon.

    After four knockout rounds, with readers delivering thousands of votes, the Taco Spot on Grafton Street in Worcester has emerged as the preferred place for tacos in the region. The Taco Spot outdid El Patron Mexican Restaurant to earn the reader-determined designation as the Best Taco Spot in Central Massachusetts. The finish showed Taco Spot to be the favorite of the 16 places in the original field. In the weeklong final round that ended Saturday, the restaurant at 264 Grafton St. topped El Patron, 192 Harding St., with Taco Spot, collecting 62% of the 3,297 total votes.

    Bob's Stores announced it's closing all of its stores, including its six in Massachusetts. The discount retail chain has been in business for more than half a century. Stores will be closed to the public after July 14. Bob's Stores President Dave Barton said the company's financial struggles led to the liquidation of its physical stores. Store credit and Bob's Stores gift cards will be usable up until the stores' last day. No returns will be accepted at store locations. In Central Massachusetts, Bob's is located at 146 Whalon St., Fitchburg, and 168 Milk St., Westborough.

    Ziggy Bombs at 72-78 Franklin St. in Worcester celebrated a third anniversary party with free pu pu platters from Nancy Chang Restaurant and gift cards on July 9. Ziggy Bombs opened in its first location on Franklin Street across from Worcester Common in 2022. Owner Mike Devish had an award-winning food truck business before joining with business partners in brick-and-mortar shops. The second Ziggy Bombs specialty sub shop opened in April in Brookline. Loyal customers await the opening of a third Ziggy Bombs in Leicester at 1072 Main St., which will have its grand opening by early fall, according to Devish.
