MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – A historic building that covers one square block in downtown Minneapolis is now known as The Paul D. Wellstone Federal Building. Minnesota Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith helped pass the bi-partisan bill renaming the Federal Building in honor of the late Senator Wellstone. Blood donations tend to drop over the busy summer months. Sue Thesenga with the American Red Cross is asking you to roll up a sleeve this month and give the gift of life. She says there is an urgent need for Type-O blood donations right now. The bloodmobile is taking donations today (Wednesday) from 10-4 at Springfield High School. Thursday donations will be taken at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville from 1 – 7 and at First Presbyterian Church in St. James Thursday from noon to 6 and Friday from 8 to noon. The St. Cloud Police Department are reporting a burglary on the 400 block of 1st Avenue South. Alicia Mages from Tri-County Crime Stoppers says a witness interrupted a bearded white male inside a vacant building cutting copper pipes and wiring. She says the suspect fled the scene before police arrived. The suspect was further described as wearing a blue shirt with dark colored shorts and left the area in a maroon car.
