    Former Northwestern Missouri State AD Named to NACDA Hall of Fame

    (Cleveland, OH)- Former athletic director for the Bearcats, Dr. Bob Beorigter, was announced as a part of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics 2024 Hall of Fame class. Beorigter served as athletic director from 2001-2010, during which Northwest Missouri State captured 20 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association titles. As athletic director at Northwest, he also served in national roles such as Chair of the Division II Football Committee, a member of the Division II Championships Committee and the Planning and Finance Committee, and other Division II committees and associations. Beorigter also served as Chair of the Division II Management Council, as a D2 ADA Board Member from 2003-08, and as a member of the NCAA Executive Committee.

    After his time with the Bearcats, Beorigter served as the fourth full-time commissioner of the MIAA implementing expansion and overseeing the 2012 Centennial. He also played a role in attracting NCAA Championships to MIAA locations and oversaw 10 MIAA national championships in six different sports.

    His awards include: 1993 NAIA Athletics Administrator of the Year, induction to Hastings College Hall of Fame in 2008, Kansas City’s Sports Executive of the Year by the Kansas City Sports Commission, the D2 ADA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018, and induction into both the Northwest Missouri State M-Club Hall of Fame and the MIAA Hall of Fame in 2023.
