Final Results From IHSAA Class 1A District Golf Meet in Anita as Sidney Earns Team Victory

(Anita, IA) – At the Crestwood Hills Golf Course in Anita, the Sidney Cowboys were able to take a team District victory after shooting a 323 overall. Coming in second was MMCRU with a 329 alongside East Mills in third as they also shot a 329 as a team. In fourth it was CAM with a 330 and Alta-Aurelia followed up with a 332 in fifth and Earlham with 336 in sixth. Mount Ayr shot a 340 in seventh place while Audubon was able to capture eighth place with 344 on the day. East Union and Southeast Warren finished up in ninth and tenth with 351 and 371 respectively.

Looking at the athletes headed to state, CAM’s Chase Jahde will be making the trip once again after being the top golfer on Monday as the medalist with a 69 on the day, shooting two under par. Hamburg’s Keith Thompson came as the only individual for Hamburg and shot one over par for a 72 on the day overall as the runner-up. Sidney’s Hayden Thompson shot a 74 on the day in third while Earlham’s Ryan Stiles shot a 77 in fourth place. In fifth, Jack Bloom was able to shoot a 78 for MMCRU alongside Wayne’s Nash Buckingham who also shot a 78 on the day. Three golfers finished off the top ten with a 79 that included Sidney’s Michael Hensley, Fremont-Mills’ Cooper Marvel, and St. Albert’s Ben Krohn.

The state qualifiers will prepare over the course of this week as they prepare for State action on May 20th through the 21st in Ames.
