(Anita, IA) The 1A Region 2 girl’s golf state qualifying meet concluded last Monday (May 15) as Junior golfer from Griswold Joanna Reynolds fired an 89 in Crestwood Hills placing fifth overall. Despite golf not being Joanna’s favorite sport, the 89 was good enough to send Reynolds to state for the first time in her golf career.

Head Coach Jason Reynolds is very happy for Joanna and credits the hard work she’s put in.

Senior Linsey Keiser shot a 100 at the state qualifying regional in Anita placing 17th overall. Although Keiser didn’t shoot her best, Coach Reynolds looks at the progress Keiser has made in her golf career.

Keiser and Reynolds worked well together this year for the Tigers, going one and two in every major statistical category in the Corner Conference. Between the two of them, they racked up a total of 19 medals in 11 meets on the season. Keiser and Reynolds also took first and second at the Corner Conference meet.

Overall, Coach Reynolds is happy with how the season went.

Joanna Reynolds will tee off at 9:00 a.m. Thursday on hole 18 at the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown.
