Riverside’s Addison Brink Ready to Hit the Fairway at the State Golf Tournament

(Marshalltown, IA) – Riverside’s Addison Brink has been one of the region’s most impactful golfers. Today, the senior will be taking the course in Marshalltown for the Class 1A IGHSAU State Golf Tournament just as she has before in her historic career. The senior was able to hit the course on Wednesday to get a few practice rounds of golf in to prepare for the real deal today. Head Coach Mitch Rice was there alongside Brink to help her scramble through a few tough holes and get her a trophy by the end of the tournament.

Brink has made it to this point in the postseason with her skill and motivation to improve. That motivation comes from her family. Her grandpa was the former golf coach at Riverside who helped to get her to where she is today. This is a sport that she was raised with and is one that she absolutely loves. There is no better way to see a golfer succeed than seeing their passion for the sport.

The senior leaves a legacy on Riverside girl’s golf. She was a top leader all season for the Bulldogs by helping the younger golfers out on the course, staying late after practice, and even helping the girls shoot under 200 in one competition this season. Brink was one of the biggest reasons for one of Riverside’s most successful golf seasons.

With the practice round yesterday, Brink was able to prepare for a day that she’s been looking for. While the wind will be shifted in a different direction, the pin placement will remain the same for the golfers. This helps to keep a golfer comfortable and strategize on what is next for every single hole.
