    Griswold’s Reynolds and Riverside’s Brink Tied After Round One of Class 1A Girl’s Golf Tournament

    (Marshalltown, IA) – Round one has finished up in Marshalltown at the American Legion Golf Course for the High School Girls State Golf Tournament. Griswold’s Joanna Reynolds and Riverside’s Addison Brink will be headed into tomorrow’s round with a tied score as they currently both sit at 91 with a +20 over par.

    Looking at both of these golfers and their performance today, Joanna Reynolds shot a 49 on the front nine and a 42 on the back nine. She started on hole 18 with a three overall to start in a good way with a par. On hole one, she shot over with a six, a double bogey overall. Reynolds did make up for it on hole two with a five for par. Hole three featured a bogey with a six while on holes four, five, and six, she had a double bogey or worse. Holes seven and nine were both par threes where she earned a bogey on both and shot a seven on hole eight. Jumping back on the back nine, she started with hole 10 earning a bogey with a five. Hole 11 was a double bogey with a seven and hole 12 helped push her back on track with a bogey at six. On holes 13 and 14, she shot at par to be able to earn a three and four. Holes 15 and 16 featured Reynolds with bogeys and on hole 17, she finished off the day with a par.

    Jumping over to Addison Brink, the senior shot a 46 on the front nine and a 45 on the back nine. Brink started on hole 16 on the day and was able to start that hole off with a bogey at four. She cleaned up on holes 17 and 18 while shooting at par and earned a bogey on hole one with a five. Brink went on a streak of shooting just one over on holes two, three, four, and five, where she couldn’t get back down to that streak that she created on holes 17 and 18. On hole six, she shot a six which put her at a double bogey, and shot just one over once again on holes seven, eight, and nine. Jumping back to the back nine, Brink shot one over on hole 10 with a five, earned a double bogey on hole 11 with a six, and shot just one over par on hole 12. On holes 13 and 15, Brink shot a double bogey, and on hole 14, she just shot one over.
