(Audubon, IA) — When the new volleyball season starts, Audubon will some familiar faces back while some are gone. Three seniors graduated from last year’s 19-12 squad so there is more than hope that the Wheelers can have another successful season.

Gone are offensive leader Mattie Nielsen (335 kills, 226 digs, 20 blocks, 42 aces), Setter Addie Hocker (603 assists, 29 blocks, 172 digs, 57 aces) and Michelle Brooks (124 digs, 34 aces) but Head Coach Brandi Gruhn is excited about her younger players stepping into those spots

When it comes to offense, Junior Harlow Miller will step into the #1 role after 236 kills as a Sophomore — plus throw in 151 digs, 54 aces, and a team leading 56 blocks and you got a complete volleyball player

The Wheelers also have Sophomore Kadence Brandon Sporrer who Gruhn hopes can develop her offensive numbers but also put up 199 digs and 25 aces. Gruhn does not have the libero position set yet as young players will contribute on the back line

Audubon opens their season on Thursday, August 29 hosting Panorama
