(Stuart, Iowa) The Stuart Police Department successfully executed a search warrant in the 500 block of South Harrison Street on August 16th. It continued into the early hours of August 17th. This action culminated in a month-long investigation by Stuart police to address incidents involving projectiles directed at a local residence.

The investigation began after reports indicated that an individual allegedly launched various hard metal projectiles toward a home in the 500 block of S. Gaines Street. These projectiles were launched at the house multiple times over several weeks. Several of the projectiles were equipped with fireworks designed to explode upon impact. These actions caused considerable damage to the home and distress to the residents.

During the search of the property in the 500 block of S. Harrison Street, officers discovered numerous items with fireworks attached, like those used in the reported incidents, along with multiple launching devices. Additionally, officers found various items of drug paraphernalia, controlled substances, and numerous illegal firearms. A “hitlist” was also uncovered, containing names of several local law enforcement officers.

Bobby Glenn Agan, a 52-year-old resident of the searched property, was arrested and booked into the Adair County Jail. He faces several felony and misdemeanor charges, including Stalking (Dangerous Weapon), Possession of a Controlled Substance (x2, Second Offense), Possession of Prescription Medications, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of an Offensive Weapon, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

This is an ongoing investigation. Additional charges may be filed, and additional suspects may be named. We remind the community that criminal charges are merely allegations based on probable cause and remain allegations until proven otherwise in a court of law. All suspects should be considered innocent until proven guilty.

The Stuart Police Department is committed to ensuring the safety of our community and will continue to pursue justice in this matter. If you have information regarding this investigation or others, please get in touch with us.
