    Rosemary Mally Obituary

    Rosemary June Mally (Rosie), 96, a longtime resident of Atlantic, passed away peacefully at Allen House in Atlantic, Iowa August 18, 2024. Rosemary was born the daughter of Gertrude and Frank Bernard November 12, 1927, in Waterloo, Iowa.

    She attended school and graduated from Orange Consolidated High School in 1945.

    In 1950 she received a BS in nursing from Broadlawns School of Nursing in Des Moines, Iowa. She married George Mally on October 21, 1951. George and Rosemary lived in Grinnell, Spencer and Des Moines before finally settling in Atlantic. The couple was blessed with a family of three boys.

    Rosemary retired in 1989 as a registered nurse from the Cass County Memorial hospital specializing in OBGYN.

    Rosemary was a member of the Nishna Hills Golf Club, Elks Club, DOES, and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Her interests included golfing, taking her friends money while playing cards at the Nishna Hills clubhouse, growing African violets, and watching Iowa State football/basketball.

    Her special accomplishments were those of being a loving wife and mother, trips with George to Portugal and Sweden. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, a woman of good humor, loyalty, honesty and integrity.

    Her survivors include her sons, Steven and wife Tammy of Everett, Washington; Kenneth and wife Leslie of Weaverville, California, their children, Brittany and Jasmine; Thomas of Monument, Colorado, his children, Tucker and Nathan; and four great grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband George; brothers Bill, Earnest and Tom as well as sisters Ruth and Margaret.

    Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Atlantic, IA with Pastor Lauri Boysen officiating.

    Please join the family for lunch and memories in the church fellowship hall following the memorial service.

    Private burial will be at the Atlantic Cemetery in Atlantic, IA.
