Atlantic School Transportation Department Using New Routing Software

(Atlantic) The Atlantic Community Schools Bus Transportation Department is implementing new routing software. School District Transportation Director Steve Andersen says the new software improves efficiency in pickups, drop-offs, mileage, and safe places for students to get on and off the buses.

Andersen says management can see the location of each bus during its route.

Andersen says the parent portal tracker is one of the best features of this software. This app on a parent’s phone or device notifies the family when the bus is nearing their home.

The parents can also see when the bus arrives at the school. Andersen says the goal is to remain consistent so the parents know what to expect.
