(Greene County) One person died, and another person suffered injuries in a single-vehicle crash in Greene County.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 10:08 p.m. on Saturday on 130th Street west of P Avenue. Authorities say 31-year-old Kyle Shank of Paton died in the crash. A passenger, 30-year-old Sydney Shank of Paton, was injured in the accident.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 20017 Chevy Silverado pickup driven by Kyle Shank traveling eastbound on 130th Street attempted to pass another eastbound vehicle. At a high rate of speed, the pickup dropped off the north shoulder, entered the north ditch, struck a field drive, went airborne, rolled multiple times front to rear, and came to rest in a cornfield. Kyle Shank was ejected from the pickup.

Churdan EMS transported Kyle Shank to the State Medical Examiner’s Office and Sydney Shank to the Greene County Hospital.
