    Gov. Reynolds appoints Christine Hensley to Iowa Board of Regents

    (Des Moines) Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has announced Christine Hensley’s appointment to the Iowa Board of Regents.

    Early in her career, Hensley worked closely with developers on affordable housing projects across Iowa as a Midwest Housing Equity Group business development manager. She also served as Vice President of Community and Government Affairs for Bank of the West after acting as a Des Moines city council member for 24 years.

    Hensley has served as president of the Iowa Student Loan Corporation, Iowa League of Cities, and the Metro Advisory Council, among other boards. She currently serves as chairperson of the Horizon Science Academy governing board. 2017, she was inducted into the Iowa Women’s Hall of Fame.

    Governor Reynolds expressed confidence in Hensley’s ability to collaborate with fellow board members to ensure graduates are prepared for success in Iowa’s diverse economy. Hensley also expressed her gratitude for the appointment and eagerness to work with fellow board members to provide outstanding education in Iowa.

    Hensley attended Drake University and St. Joseph Academy. In 2017, she was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from Grandview University.

    Hensley’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.
