KEARNEY — Kearney is a host site for the 2024 Nebraska Little League state tournament finals and the Kearney Little League president spoke about post-season play. Todd Herges, President of the Kearney Little League said that the number of participants were up this season, climbing back up from the lower numbers after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Police looking for man after reckless high-speed chase in Grand Island
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Grand Island Police are looking for an Alda man after they say he fled from officers and drove recklessly with his son in the car on Friday. Grand Island Police said officers spotted 37-year-old Don Casey Casares with fictitious plates at the Super Saver on West 2nd Street and attempted to stop him.

City officials close Beatrice park restroom, following fireworks damage
BEATRICE – The City of Beatrice has closed a public park restroom, after it was damaged by vandals. A police sergeant responding to the park Friday morning found that a toilet had been blown up by fireworks, shattered into several pieces. A spent six-inch firework casing was found nearby.
