Menendez: Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey says he will appeal his corruption conviction. A federal jury found Menendez guilty on all 16 counts including accepting bribes and working for a foreign government. Many of his colleagues are calling on him to resign and say if he refuses to resign they’ll move to expel him from the Senate. Menendez, a Democrat, decided not to seek the Democratic nomination to run for another tern in the Senate but says he will run as an independent.

Hines and Peakhill close deal for Port Chester apartment development
Hines, a global real estate investment, development and property manager. that operates in 30 countries and Toronto-based real estate investor Peakhill Equity Partners have closed on a joint venture to build Station Lofts, a 180-unit apartment development at 67 New Broad St. in Port Chester. Details of the financial arrangement between Hines and Peakhill were not included in the announcement that the joint venture agreement had been finalized.

The town of Fairfield has used its American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to install what at first glance might look like a playground for seniors. Located adjacent to the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities, the area is equipped with a wide rubber pad like might be found around some playscapes, a mini-obstacle course, an outdoor xylophone, and swing sets. But it also has leg presses, ellipticals, and instructions about how the equipment can be best used to maximize workout effectiveness and safety.
