Connecticut Breast Imaging has announced the opening of its newest facility, on Sunday, June 9, in New Canaan. The event – from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 23 Vitti St., Suite 100 – is more than chance to see the new space and meet physicians and staff. Mammograms will be available by appointment or walk-in, and physicians will discuss the results directly.
Indoor soccer opens in New Rochelle
An indoor soccer facility has opened at New Roc City in New Rochelle in the space that formerly was occupied by an arcade that closed during the Covid pandemic. Socceroof’s 55,000-square-feet space, located on the third floor of New Roc City, features six soccer fields, three hardcourts for pickleball and half-court basketball, and two baseball cages. In addition, there is a private room for parties and a lounge area.
White Plains adopts new comprehensive plan
The White Plains Common Council has adopted the city’s new Comprehensive Plan, known as One White Plains, which was prepared in a three-year effort. There were several significant edits made to the draft version of the document after it had been presented to the public and drew loud criticism for not protecting existing single-family neighborhoods and encouraging dense development outside of the city’s downtown core.

President Biden flew to Westchester County Airport, arriving at 6:16, slightly behind the original scheduled 5:50 p.m. arrival time, in order to attend a campaign fundraising event in Greenwich. Spano wants moratorium on battery electric storage systems and self-storage buildings in Yonkers
Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano today called on the Yonkers City Council to pass legislation that places moratoriums on approvals for the construction and opening of two types of storage projects in the city: storage of property and storage of electricity. Storage of property would be in self-storage facilities. Storage of electricity would be in electric substations using lithium-ion units known as Battery Energy Storage Systems, or BESS.
