Biden to visit Greenwich on Monday
President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit Greenwich on Monday, June 3, Senator Richard Blumenthal told CTInsider. The already sold-out fundraising event at a donor’s private home will take place at 6:30pm. Many top elected officials from Connecticut are expected to attend, including Blumenthal himself and fellow Greenwich resident Governor Ned Lamont.
Westchester County Legislature approves infrastructure bonds
The Westchester County Board of Legislators has approved floating bonds to help pay for infrastructure projects as well as flooding mitigation measures. The Board approved a $850,000 bond act to upgrade the information technology infrastructure at the county’s Water Resource and Recovery Facility in Yonkers. The bond act will finance the replacement of outdated cabling, fiber, and network equipment critical for the facility’s operations. The upgrade is necessary so the plant will meet federal Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency standards and prevent operational disruptions.

Trump trial: Judge Juan Merchan scheduled the Manhattan court in the Donald Trump hush money trial to be back in session at 10 this morning after yesterday’s session that lasted until 8 at night. Lengthy closing arguments were presented by the defense and prosecution. Judge Merchan was planning to take about an hour explaining the law and giving jury instructions before jury deliberations were to begin. All 12 jurors must agree on whether Trump is guilty as charged in the 34 counts of falsifying business records in order to affect the 2016 election.
