Kathleen Reckling to become CEO of ArtsWestchester; succeeds Janet Langsam
After a nationwide search, the committee to find a new CEO for ArtsWestchester concluded that the right person was there all along. Kathleen Reckling, COO of the 59-year-old, White Plains-based arts council, has been named to succeed Janet T. Langsam, effective July 1. Langsam will become CEO emerita in recognition of her longtime leadership of the arts in Westchester County.

Bad weather: Severe storms containing tornadoes swept through the Midwest yesterday and forecasts called for more storms today along a 1,500-mile area from Texas to Vermont. At least 18 tornadoes touched down in Iowa yesterday. An estimated 90,000 customers were without power in Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois as of this morning. There were people killed an injured as a result of the storms but casualty counts had not been completed as of this morning.

Projects to be funded by state grants in Westchester and Orange announced
Studies have identified 21 projects to receive New York State Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) and NY Forward funding that previously was awarded.
