Ukraine Children’s Hospital: At least 20 are dead and 50 injured after Russian missile strikes targeting Kyiv landed during rush hour on July 8. Among the buildings hit was Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital, the largest in the country. Residential buildings were also struck. Fairfield County’s Community Foundation provided a grant of $30,000 to Ability Beyond, based in Bethel, on July 3. Ability Beyond, one of Connecticut’s largest providers of disability assistance and services indicated that the funds will be used for the Pathways to Excellence Program which helps current employees gain additional certification in Direct Care by taking courses in a curriculum developed in partnership with the University of Minnesota.
