Salsa Fresca Mexican Grill, the fast-casual fresh Mexican food restaurant that’s rapidly expanding across New York and Connecticut suburbs, announced that it has added a new protein to its robust menu of signature and build-your-own items: Braised Beef Birria. This marks the first new protein to be added to Salsa Fresca’s menu since its Baja Chicken in 2020. In addition to its new protein, Salsa Fresca has also announced that two new house-made salsas are joining its lineup: Avocado Salsa and Tomato Jalapeño Salsa.

ARTS FUNDING AVAILABLE IN HUDSON VALLEY
Arts Mid-Hudson in Poughkeepsie recently announced its Arts & Culture Project Grant Program, a funding program with over $500,000 in funds to support the arts in Dutchess, Orange and Ulster counties. This funding is available to artists, nonprofit organizations, libraries, municipalities, unincorporated groups and collaborations for arts and cultural activities occurring from July 1 to June 30, 2025. Eligible projects may include, but are not limited to exhibits, performances, concerts, festivals, in-school and community workshops, screenings, readings, cultural programming, and the creation of new work. Grant awards are determined by a peer review panel made up of community members.
SUMMER ARTISTS EXHIBIT OPENS

Trump’s sentencing in Manhattan trial postponed in view of Supreme Court decision on presidential immunity
The sentencing of Donald Trump on his 34 felony convictions in the Stormy Daniels hush money case has been postponed by New York State Judge Juan Merchan. Trump had been due to be sentenced on July 11. In his order, Judge Merchan pushed back the sentencing date until Sept, 18 and added “if such is still necessary,” indicating that he might have to throw out the entire case. Merchan’s action in postponing the sentencing came in the wake of the Supreme Court’s monumental ruling released Monday that Trump and all other presidents are entitled to immunity from prosecution for any crimes they commit while performing official duties.

Hurricane Beryl: Hurricane Beryl has lost a little strength and was back to Category 4 status this morning. The storm was expected to create what’s described as a life-threatening storm surge affecting Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. At least seven people have been killed so far by the storm in the Caribbean. Storm bands from Beryl were reaching as far out as Haiti as of this morning.
