Resident fatally shoots home intruder near University of Denver
A startled resident shot and killed a man who was intruding in their apartment early Sunday morning, according to the Denver Police Department. The shooting happened near the 2300 block of east Evans Avenue in south Denver, at the One Observatory Park apartment complex near the University of Denver. An initial call of a shooting came in around 1 a.m., according to a police department spokesperson. Police officials said a "surprised" resident shot the intruder inside their home. The man who intruded on the home was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Police officials added the resident who shot the man is cooperating during the active investigation.

Denver Nuggets close Summer League with consecutive wins thanks to Trey Alexander's late takeover
It took some clutch offense from Trey Alexander for the Nuggets to avoid a collapse in their Summer League finale, a 91-82 win over the Pelicans on Saturday in Las Vegas. Denver saw an early 23-point lead dissolve in the final minutes. Then, Alexander scored or assisted 10 of Denver’s final 16 points. The rookie finished with 19 points, making 8 of his 10 shots from the field and all three of his 3-pointers. He added seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and a block in 29 minutes. The former Creighton standout averaged more than 17 points, five rebounds and two assists over five Summer League games.
